Our Meet the Team blogs are here to help you get to know us and the people that make the magic happen so who better to start with than the man that started it all. Ben Loyd Holmes started Creature Events, around 2011 when a small idea turned into something really special.
Having spent some time working in and around Film, Ben thought, “what if we could bring that film magic to everyone, wherever they are, in a live setting. What if we could do something so real, that people wouldn’t be able to tell it wasn’t Hollywood CGI that was somehow in front of the.” And the business was born. From humble beginnings and little acorns to mighty oak trees grow.
“We started with the one Dinosaur, that was used in the movie EXTINCTION. I set up a website as DinoHire back in 2011 and a Facebook page to match, worked out the pricing and some plans and didn’t think much more of it as I had to first finish a project I was working on. Then the phone rang and the person said “hey i’d like to talk about hiring your dinosaur for an event”. Just two months after setting up and without any marketing, other than the website and Facebook page the phone rang. It was so very exciting.”
Suddenly we were in business
The next challenge was the Team, Ben had the performance skills and background but it wasn’t a one man job so, he went to the talent pool of actors began training them for the job. It was a wild year, the phone never stopped ringing but a transformative moment was when a client said. “We love what you do, but we can’t keep having Dinosaurs each time, what else have you got?.

12 years later and now branded as Creature Events we have over 200 items and any number of combination offers and work all over the world including Iceland, Saudi Arabia, Korea, South Africa, EU and the USA.
Creating a Trusted Brand
Live events are something you only get one shot at, there’s no do over, no lets try again tomorrow. Those experiences must be perfect and be perfect all day for every visitor. With live experiences being to core of what we do we built a trusted brand wit ha reputation for always being there, being on time and going the extra mile.
I am hugely proud of the hardworking team we have put together who work tirelessly in often difficult situations to create spectacular experiences for people to enjoy.
As a business owner, I understand the requirements of a client, so my first thought is always what does the client need? What are their goals and how can we help achieve them. Using our wealth of experience we come up with a personalised performance plan that keys into our clients needs.
I’m so quietly proud of having so man wonderful clients and if I’m honest being the approved supplier of the Natural History Museum feels very special. We are the choice of everyone from Formula 1 teams, Royal Families, Media Production, endless Celebrities, incredible private Events and of course thanks to our wonderful clients, some amazing live Events & Marketing activations.
